Yeah, don’t we all wish we could afford one of those sweet new 20″ flat-panel iMacs? Well, I know I sure wish I had one. At any rate, sometimes when working on a new website we not only wish we had an iMac, but we really need one! I’ve been finding a lot of info online about great command-line tools for MacOS X – things that would really help me out when developing Flash websites.
Also, there’s always the problem of what your site looks like to millions of Mac users … what’s a web designer to do? Here’s a great resource to help you debug your website for Apple’s Safari browser (not that debugging is usually needed, but it’s always good to know your site is solid in browsers besides IE/WIN). Daniel Vine has taken a couple old Macs and put them to use for the public with his Safari screen capture site called (oddly enough) iCapture. All you need to do is type in your site’s address, wait a few minutes and wha-la! you see what your site looks like in Safari. So, until we have enough money for our own Macs, we can always use Daniel Vine’s. Enjoy.
