Upgrading to Macromedia Studio 8

Well, I finally ordered Studio 8. It’s available for download from Macromedia, but I decided to save a few bucks and order it from Amazon. While I’m generally trying to move myself away from pricey software to cheaper (or free) open source software â?¦ I do find Macromedia Studio quite indispensable on a daily basis. The upgrade in Flash alone is worth the price. It’s just too bad I couldn’t do a cross-platform upgrade and get Studio 8 for my Mac.

This is preciously why people are driven to use open source software for production (in my opinion anyway). Why should the consumer be punished for a change of computing preference? They already paid for the software once, shouldn’t they be rewarded for trying to stick to the manufacturer when they switch platform? Crap like this about mega-software companies drive me crazy!! :(
