The KAMRUI AM02 Pro was a compact budget mini PC for everyday productivity, media playback, and light gaming. It ran an AMD Ryzen 7 5700U (a later config used the Ryzen 7 5800U) with integrated Radeon RX Vega 8 graphics, 16GB of DDR4 (expandable to 64GB), and a 512GB M.2 NVMe SSD. It supported Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, drove two displays over HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort (the USB-C port is data-only at 5Gbps), and shipped with a VESA mount for tucking behind a monitor.

Office work and 4K playback were the comfortable range

Email, word processing, web, and photo editing ran smoothly on the eight-core Ryzen 7 and its DDR4 memory, and the aluminum case helped with cooling. Gaming was limited to older and lighter titles. The 5700U and 5800U both drive the same integrated Radeon RX Vega 8, so neither configuration changes that ceiling.

As a media box it played 4K at 60Hz over HDMI 2.0, which made it a workable living-room or home-theater unit. The upgradeable RAM and M.2 SSD gave it some headroom, and the small footprint plus VESA mount suited an office desk or a spot behind a monitor. Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and gigabit Ethernet covered the connections a desk or TV cabinet needs.

Emulation held up through PlayStation 2 in Retro Handhelds’ testing

Retro Handhelds focused on emulation and PC gaming in a roughly $300 budget box, opening with the line, “Mini PCs are awesome. You have these tiny little boxes they can pretty much fit anywhere.” The reviewer called the Ryzen 7 5700U “definitely no slouch.” For DOOM, they reported “about 30 frames per second” at 1080p and “55 to 60” after dropping to 720p, which the reviewer judged “pretty playable.” The Witcher 3 held “a lock 30” using the Steam Deck graphics presets.

Matt Keith, CGMagonline: older games fine, DaVinci Resolve out of reach

Writing for CGMagonline in December 2023, Matt Keith scored the AM02 Pro an 8 out of 10 and framed it as “Kamrui’s attempt to integrate productivity and home entertainment into one compact form factor.” DOOM Eternal “simply wasn’t playable” and ran as “a slow-moving slideshow,” and Diablo 4 was “technically playable at 20-25 FPS at the lowest possible settings,” which he would not recommend for any length of time. League of Legends and World of Warcraft (Retail) “ran smooth as silk, easily maintaining 60FPS,” while Fortnite needed its settings “scaled back to achieve a solid 45-60 FPS.” Diablo 3 played well and Grim Dawn ran with no issues.

He described the chassis as “exceptionally quiet even during gaming or media streaming sessions,” noted the HDMI 2.0 output achieved 4K HDR at 60Hz for streaming and local files, and praised the upgradeable DDR4 (3200 MT/s) memory and M.2 SSD. After dropping DaVinci Resolve to quarter playback quality and reallocating resources, he concluded the system “just couldn’t handle video editing.” He also noted that AMD will provide future support for the Vega graphics line only as critical updates, so the integrated GPU will not see further performance gains. The bulk of buyers are positive (66% leave five stars), and the recurring praise is speed in a small package for light gaming and home-server duty. Verified buyer Frank G ran it as a Plex box and wrote that “it has no problem transcoding a 4K video file,” noting the two RAM slots let him expand to 32GB. Verified buyer Anazar reported playing RDR2, Witcher 3, and Assassin’s Creed Odyssey “at 45-60 fps with no hiccups or frame drops at all” on lower settings, and verified buyer Alicia L. said after a couple of years it “runs perfectly fine, doesn’t overheat or get too loud at all” for Clip Studio Paint work.
