Note: The KAMRUI AM02 is no longer sold new, either from KAMRUI’s store or on Amazon. KAMRUI’s current Ryzen line includes the Hyper H1 with the Ryzen 7 7735HS, and the later AM02 Pro kept the VESA-mount box and moved to Ryzen 7 5700U and 5800U chips. Anyone shopping for a current box can compare live options in Starry Hope’s Mini PC Comparison Tool.

The KAMRUI AM02 is a small Windows 11 Pro desktop that still suits office work, browsing, and media playback on two screens, and it can hang behind a monitor on its bundled VESA bracket. It runs AMD’s Ryzen 7 3750H, a four-core, eight-thread mobile chip from 2019 with Radeon RX Vega 10 graphics, and shipped with 16GB or 32GB of DDR4 and a 512GB or 1TB M.2 SATA SSD. Newer Ryzen chips at the AM02’s old list prices are much faster and add NVMe storage and Wi-Fi 6.

Dual-display ports, two RAM slots, and one SATA drive slot

At 4.92 x 4.92 x 1.57 inches, the AM02 carries four USB 3.0 ports, one USB-C port, HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, a Gigabit Ethernet jack, dual-band Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 4.2, and a combo headphone jack. The HDMI and DisplayPort outputs run together for a two-screen desk. There is no SD card reader.

Inside, two DDR4 SODIMM slots take up to 32GB, which is also the Ryzen 7 3750H’s memory ceiling. The configurations were 16GB with a 512GB or 1TB SSD, and 32GB with a 1TB SSD. The single M.2 slot holds a SATA drive rather than NVMe, and there is no second slot or 2.5-inch bay, so growing storage means replacing that drive or adding USB storage.

Faster than an N150, far behind current Ryzen chips

The Ryzen 7 3750H is a 35W Zen+ part with four cores and eight threads, a 2.3GHz base clock, and a 4.0GHz boost. Its PassMark multi-thread score is 8,167. That is ahead of Intel’s N150 (5,343), a common chip in current entry-level mini PCs, but about half of a Ryzen 5 7430U (15,985) or a third of the Ryzen 7 7735HS (24,264) in KAMRUI’s Hyper H1.

The integrated Radeon RX Vega 10 runs older and lighter games and handles 4K video playback, but current AAA games are out of its range. An internal fan cools the chip, so the AM02 is not silent under load.

Reviewer Insights

Britec09: solid build, a SATA drive, and 100°C under load

Brian of the Britec09 YouTube channel tested the same AM02 chassis sold under the NiPoGi badge, with the Ryzen 7 3750H, 16GB of DDR4, and a 512GB SSD. He noted that the design is shared: “There’s quite a few manufacturers that make this one.” His port tour matches the KAMRUI spec, with a USB-C port, power button, and audio jack on the front, and the DC input, DisplayPort, HDMI, four USB 3.0 ports, and Gigabit Ethernet on the back. He rated the build highly: “Good design quality on this, very good build quality as well.”

Inside he found two RAM slots and a SATA drive, and the drive was his main complaint: “This is not an NVMe drive, which is I think a little bit of a let down for this device.” He added that “there’s no room for expansion so you can’t put any more drives in here.” In Geekbench the unit scored 868 single-core and 3,483 multi-core.

During a Cinebench multi-core run the chip reached 100°C. After a full round of benchmarks and games he reported “there’s still no thermal throttling here,” but said he would have liked the thermals “just a little bit cooler,” closer to the 70 to 80°C range. 4K video played smoothly (“it can handle this very easily”), which he tied to Plex use, and retro games ran “silky smooth.” A rally game at 1080p and around medium settings ran with “no problems at all,” though he cautioned that these boxes are “not an out and out replacement for a gaming desktop PC.” The full review is on Britec09’s YouTube channel.

Who should still consider an AM02

For an owner, a RAM upgrade to 32GB and a larger SATA drive are the practical upgrades. A new N150 box is slower on multi-core work but adds NVMe storage, Wi-Fi 6, lower power draw, and a warranty, so a used AM02 makes sense only when it costs less than one.
