The tablet half is an aluminum unibody and feels sturdy in hand. A keyboard cover ships in the box as standard, an advantage over some competitors. The cover is the weaker half of the package: rough padding and plastic keys make it feel cheaper than the tablet it snaps onto.

The 10.5-inch panel runs 1920x1200 in a 16:10 aspect ratio, and the extra vertical room helps most in laptop mode, where a browser window has more usable height. A USI stylus sits in a garage at the top left corner of the tablet, within reach for handwriting, markup, and drawing.

The kickstand works in horizontal and vertical orientations, so the tablet stands up for reading or drawing in portrait as well as for video in landscape. A combo headphone/microphone jack is on board, which spares you a USB-C adapter for wired earbuds.

The MT8183 slows down once several tabs or Android apps are open, and that is the constraint most owners run into. Local storage is fixed at 64GB of eMMC with no SD card reader to extend it. Battery life runs up to 12 hours of continuous use.

The reviewer stated, “The Asus CM3 is a better Chromebook and a better tablet than the Duet, and if the improvements I’ve mentioned sound like things you’d really prioritize, it might be the better long-term purchase for you.”
